INTRO:
Hello English learners and music lovers! My name is Kiah and today I'm going to explain the song Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles.

Here Comes the Sun is a very short song written by Geroge Harrison and released in 1969. It comes from The Beatles' famous album, Abbey Road. You've probably seen a picture of that album cover with the four members of the Beatles walking across the street -- what I would call "the crosswalk". In other countries it's a zebra crossing. Anyways, I chose this song, number one, because I love The Beatles and number two, in honor of the arrival of Spring. That is, for all my listeners in the northern hemisphere. Today, March 20th is the first day of Spring. And with spring comes the end of winter, warmer weather, and of course, the sun. The song begins with the chorus. It says:

LYRICS:

[Chorus]
Here comes the sun (Doo da doo doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say it's all right

[Verse 1]
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here

[Verse 2]
Little darling, the smiles returning to their faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here

[Bridge]
Sun sun sun, here it comes

[Verse 4]
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear

INTERPRETATION:
Here Comes the Sun is thus a song about hope. We all go through difficult times, difficult moments in our life. And some of these moments feel like they last a long time -- just like the long, cold, lonely winter. But eventually it does change, the winter does end. If you're going through a hard time in life remember that the sun will come. And if you're living in the northern hemisphere, take the time to get outside and enjoy the spring sun. I'd love to hear what this song means to you. Leaving a comment on Facebook or YouTube is a great way to practice your written English and interact with English learners around the world.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
You may notice I decided to start labeling explanations by difficulty. So, you'll notice that this song has one star (✦✧✧), which means that the lyrics are easier to understand and I explain more of the words and grammar.
